El Nino and high tide floding, a possible double whammy for some coastal communities in 2026
Adaptive Engagement

It's the other AI; Adaptive Information
Not generative.
Not summative.
Adaptive.

Adaptive AI is an approach to artificial intelligence that dynamically restructures or adjusts information, interfaces, or interactions to match the needs of individual users and changing contexts. Meeting the needs is The DIgital Engagement Model. The two are separate but joined to deliver information that serves the largest audience.
Unlike generative AI, which creates new content by predicting patterns from training data, adaptive AI focuses on optimizing how existing information is presented based on factors such as a user’s available time, interests, expertise, goals, device, or accessibility needs.
As users interact with a system, adaptive AI can modify the sequence, depth, format, or emphasis of information while preserving the original meaning and factual content. In education, journalism, healthcare, and other communication settings, adaptive AI can make the same information more accessible to diverse audiences by supporting scanners, skimmers, seekers, and deep readers without requiring separate versions of the content.
